Feeling stuck financially is something almost everyone goes through at some point, and it rarely feels like a money problem alone. Instead, it feels like a fog. You’re working, you’re trying, and still nothing seems to move. So I want to share a set of ideas that many people find surprisingly useful here: the Luciferian ideas of knowledge and agency. And you don’t have to follow any religion to get something from them. But you do have to be willing to look at your situation with the lights on.

Where the Name Lucifer Comes From
Let’s start with the word itself, because it’s more beautiful than most people expect. “Lucifer” is Latin for “light-bringing,” from lux, light, and ferre, to carry.[1] For the Romans, it was simply a name for Venus when she rises as the morning star just before dawn.[1]
The darker meaning came much later, though, through Bible translation. In Isaiah 14:12, the word appears in a passage that literally describes the King of Babylon. But because the verse mentions a fall from heaven, Christians came to read it as a reference to Satan.[1] There’s even a lovely twist in old English usage. The adjective “luciferous” meant “bringing light,” though one 17th-century writer defined it as “haughty, proud.”[1] So that tension between light and pride sits at the heart of everything that follows.
How a Fallen Angel Became a Symbol of Freedom
For centuries, Satan was simply the villain. Then, around the time of the American and French Revolutions, something shifted. The historian Ruben van Luijk traces how writers and thinkers began to link Satan with emancipation and individual liberty.[2] In his account, Satanism slowly moved from a label the church used against its rivals to an identity some people chose for themselves.[2]
Then the poets led the way. William Blake famously said that Milton wrote “in fetters” about angels but “at liberty” about devils, because he was “of the Devil’s party without knowing it.”[3] In the same book, Blake wrote a line I love: “Energy is Eternal Delight.”[3]
That’s the Lucifer most modern Luciferians mean. So he isn’t a monster to them. Instead, he’s the one who refused to stay in the dark, even when it cost him everything.

Knowledge and Agency: Why They Matter When You’re Feeling Stuck Financially
Strip away the drama, and Luciferian thought usually comes down to two ideas. The first is knowledge: you’re allowed to question, learn and see things as they really are. The second is agency: you have a real hand in where your life goes. Also, neither idea asks you to wait for rescue.
Interestingly, psychology has a name for part of this. The Stanford psychologist Albert Bandura spent decades studying what he called self-efficacy. That’s the idea that your belief in your ability to succeed shapes how you think, act and feel.[4] He also stressed that people have a hand in determining the course their lives take.[4] His work was so influential that a 2002 review ranked him fourth among the most eminent psychologists of the 20th century.[4]
I find that overlap reassuring, because it matches what the old stories were saying all along. When you’re feeling stuck financially, you often don’t lack effort. You lack belief that your effort counts. If you want to explore the personal-power side of this more deeply, my article on Luciferian self-mastery and personal power goes further.
What This Looks Like When You’re Feeling Stuck Financially

So how do you actually use these ideas when you’re feeling stuck financially and the bills are piling up? I’d start with light, because that’s the whole point of the name. Sit down and look honestly at where your money goes each month. Most people avoid this, and I understand why. It feels frightening, especially when money is tight. But it’s very hard to change something you refuse to see.
Next comes knowledge. Pick one thing you don’t understand yet and learn it properly. That could be how your pay is set, what a skill is worth in your field, or how interest works on a debt. It doesn’t need to be big, so long as it’s real.
Then comes agency, which is where most people stall. Choose one action that’s fully in your hands this week. For example, you might ask for a review, apply for one role, or cancel one thing you don’t use. Small moves count, because they remind you that you’re not powerless. And if your situation feels serious, please also talk to a qualified financial adviser. After all, ritual is a support, not a substitute.
A Morning Star Ritual for Feeling Stuck Financially

This is a simple ritual I’d suggest to anyone feeling stuck financially who wants to work with these ideas. It borrows the image of the morning star: the light that shows up before the day does.
- Rise before sunrise: If you can, do this at dawn. When Venus is visible as the morning star, look for her low in the east, but the early hour alone is enough.
- Light one candle: A gold or white candle works well. Then let it stand for the light you’re bringing to your situation.
- Write down the truth: On a sheet of paper, write your real financial picture in plain words. Don’t soften it, because clarity is the offering here.
- Name one thing to learn: Underneath, write the one piece of knowledge you’ll seek this week.
- Commit to one action: Then write one step that’s entirely in your control, and say it aloud.
- Close with thanks: Finally, snuff the candle and keep the paper somewhere you’ll see it each morning until the step is done.
Belief, Intention & The Power of Magic
Witchcraft, spells, and manifestation are deeply rooted in belief, intention, and spiritual practice. If these practices do not resonate with you, this may not be the path for you, and that’s perfectly okay. But if you believe in divine powers, trust your intentions, and feel drawn to the mysteries of the unseen, we invite you to continue exploring with Madame Celestine and discover the magic that speaks to your soul.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Luciferianism the same as Satanism?
Not exactly. They overlap, but Luciferians usually focus on Lucifer as a symbol of light, knowledge and self-development rather than on rebellion alone.
Do I have to worship Lucifer to use these ideas?
No. Many people treat Lucifer as a symbol rather than a deity, and you can simply borrow the ideas of knowledge and agency.
Can Luciferian ideas help if I’m feeling stuck financially?
They can help you think more clearly and act with more confidence. They won’t replace practical steps or professional advice, though.
Why is Lucifer linked to knowledge?
His name means “light-bringer,” and light has long stood for understanding. Later writers also cast him as the one who refused to stay in the dark.
When is the best time for the morning star ritual?
Dawn is ideal, especially when Venus is visible as the morning star. Still, any quiet early moment will work.
